Thapa Elected Chair of PPLA The Rising Nepal (Mon, 16 June 2025) Kathmandu, June 16: Amar Thapa has been elected the chairperson of the Progressive and Professional Lawyers Association Nepal (PPLA). In the election held last night, a 99-member panel voted. According to him, Bhimsen Banjara has been elected the open vice-chair of the Association, Yashodadevi Kharel as the women vice-chair, Bhuwan Prasad Niraula the general secretary, and Baburam Rai the deputy general secretary. The three secretaries elected are Yukka Kumar Gautam, Mukund Prasad Adhikari, and Anita Gurung, while Kumar Prasad Ghimire has been elected the treasurer.
